How accurate are the measurements and analysis provided by ShapeScale?

ShapeScale provides highly accurate measurements and analysis of the body. The device uses a patented technology called ShapeSense, which combines computer vision, machine learning, and photogrammetry to create a 3D model of the body. ShapeScale uses a machine learning model to compute body composition based on a user’s unique demographics, body shape, volume, and density. It has been validated at a 5.2% RMS error against the gold-standard method of dual x-ray absorptiometry (DXA), which measures body fat and lean mass using low-dose x-rays.
