What is the technology behind ShapeScale?

ShapeScale is a personal tech product that makes use of cutting edge 3D depth-sensor technology (similar to that seen on Microsoft's Kinect).

Our tech captures your body from close-up at an extremely high resolution and uses infrared light to measure the distance between you and our sensor. Using this data we then create a point cloud of over 2 million points of your body shape. Using our RGB data we then map your skin and clothing on top of your body model. The result is a highly accurate and photorealistic 3D scan of yourself. Our scans are supplemented with bio-impedance and weight-sensor technology.
