How is this different to regular scales and DEXA/DXA scans?

Dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry or DEXA/DXA scans measure bone density and are often used to diagnose osteoporosis and to assess the risk that an individual may develop fractures.

DEXA/DXA scans are also considered the most accurate method to calculate your body fat, giving the individual snapshot breakdowns of their muscle mass, fat tissue and bone density.

However, purchasing a DEXA scanner could set you back a cool amount of between $20,000 - $100,000. Simply going in for one scan can cost you anywhere from $50 - $150, so for the most precise information, it is going to cost.

Typically, to secure a DEXA scan, you must also book an appointment and travel to the facility.

Despite ShapeScale being less accurate than a DEXA scan, it is far more accurate than regular scales and other conventional 3D body scanners.

ShapeScale is unique due to our ability to visualize the parts of your body where you have been gaining muscle and losing fat, thanks to our depth sensing and software algorithms and also being able to scan in the comfort of your own home. ShapeScale is also radiation free! it is completely safe to use!
